Goliath sat in the restaurant with Elisa, obviously looking very
uncomfortable. "Goliath, please quit figiting!" Elisa whispered harshly.
"I know you're still not used to wearing pants, but sit still!"
"Sorry, Elisa," Goliath replied. "This is very good, what is it again?"
"A hot dog?" Elisa said. "It's not like it's very unusual in New York."
Goliath looked down at his plate, embarrassed. Elisa looked at him,
sitting in his chair, slowly eating his hot dog and fries. He did look
handsome in his blue jeans and New York Giants T-shirt. She looked at her
hand, which now wore an engagment ring. It wasn't very classy, because they
didn't have the money. Luckily, Beth was nice enough to lend them some. "Are
you ready?" Goliath asked, getting up out of his chair.
"Huh? Oh sure," Elisa said snapping back into reality.
They walked out of the restaurant, hand in hand, to Elisa's car. As
they got in it, Goliath said, "You better hurry, it's almost sunset."
Elisa nodded her head and started the car. They were both quiet for
what seemed like hours befofe Goliath asked, "Elisa, my love, is there
anything wrong?"
Elisa only sighed and shook her head no. They got to the castle, and
as they were walking up the stairs, transformed into gargoyles. Goliath made
sure to specify a painless transformation, unlike the suffering Demona goes
through. As they got to the top, they were greeted by Bronx, who jumped up
and licked their faces. Goliath saw Elisa smile for the first time in weeks
as Bronx licked her face. "Hey, Elisa, Goliath! How was your day?" Brooklyn
asked, pulling Bronx down.
"It was fine, "Elisa murmured as she walked past the group outside.
"What's the matter with her?" Saber asked.
"I don't know, "Goliath said. "But I'm going to find out once and for all."
Goliath walked outside, followed by everyone else. "Elisa, what's
wrong? Please tell us."
        Elisa breathed, "I'm pregnant."
"But that's great!" Goliath exclaimed, putting his hands on her shoulders.
"We'll have our child to take care of!"
"I know! I know!" Elisa cried. "I'm scared! What will the baby look like?
Will it be human, gargoyle, or both? Will it change like us? So many
questions!"
Wlisa burst into tears. Goliath wrapped his arms and wings around
her and whispered, "Whatever he or she looks like, we will all love it just
the same."
Elisa cotinued crying, so Goliath whispered to Brooklyn and Saber,
"Go get Talon."
The two nodded and glided off to get her brother.
When they got to the Labyrinth, Talon was playing with his little son,
Derek. "Well, hello! What are you doing here?" Talon said, laughing at his
son, who was rolling on the ground.
                    "Elisa needs you," Saber said.
"Why, what's the matter?" Talon said, looking very worried.
"C'mon, we'll explain on the way," Brooklyn said.
Talon gave Derek to Maggie and hurried over to Castle Wyvern with
Saber and Brooklyn. When they got there, Elisa was still crying, and Goliath
was still holding her againt himself, still trying to comfort her. Talon
rushed over to Elisa and took over the hugging. "What's wrong, Elysa?"
She couldn't answer so Goliath answered for her. "She's pregnant."
"That's wonderful! When is it due?"
His response only made Elisa cry harder. Talon looked up and mouthed,
'What's the matter?' Goliath said, "She's afraid of what the baby will look
like."
Saber snuck away from everyone, and into his room. He opened his
desk drawer and pulled out a pouch. He looked at it for a second, then walked
back out of his room. Saber walked up to Goliath and handed him the pouch
without a word. Goliath looked at Saber, then opened the pouch. Goliath
gasped when he saw the contents. "Gunner gave it to me before we left, "Saber
said, looking at the Phoenix Gate Goliath was holding. "His dad cast a spell
on it so I could go visit him anytime I wanted."
"How could this help us, Saber?" Goliath said softly.
"We could go and ask Gunner's dad how you guys' tranformations will effect
your baby."
Goliath thought for a while before putting a hand on Saber's shoulder
and said, "Get your father and meet me in the hall."
Saber nodded and got Brooklyn. They walked into the hall and met
Goliath. "Did the incantation change any, Saber?" Goliath whispered.
                           "Not that I know of."
Goliath whispered the incantation and they steped into the ring of
fire when it appeared. They found themselves back in Gunner's house. They
heard running footsteps coming from above, then down the staircase. The three
saw Gunner rush down the stairs, laughing when he saw the group standing
there. "Hi! What're you guys doing here?" Gunner said with a huge smile.
Goliath shook the young wolf's hand and said, "Nice to see you again,
Gunner. We need to see your father."
"He's not here. He went to buy something, "Gunner said. "But you're welcome
to stay and wait for him."
Goliath and Brooklyn sat down on the couch to wait for Gunner's
father, while Saber and Gunner ran upstairs. When they reached Gunner's room,
Gunner ran up to his shelf and grabbed a plastic square case. "My parent's
went to an antique store and bought me this CD player and some CD's."
"You got a CD player at an antique store?" Saber said, a questioning look on
his face.
"Yeah. Remember, you're 45 years in the future. We've got new stuff now."
                                "New stuff?"
"You see this?" Gunner held up a small square object, about the size of a
bite size candy bar. "This has an equivelent of fifteen CD's in it."
Saber stared in awe at the chip before saying, "What's the boombox
look like?"
Gunner held up a walkman-sized stereo. "It's not hooked up to the
speakers. Ah! Here it is!"
He pulled out a CD, and brushed off some of the remaining dust. "This
one is my favorite. It's a soundtrack from an old Disney movie called, "The
Lion King".
Saber laughed. "Gunner, in my time, the movie is only four years old!"
They both laughed as Gunner finished putting the CD in the player.
The room was filled with the words of "The Circle of Life" and Saber and
Gunner joined in with the song as it played.
Brooklyn looked up at the ceiling where the sound was coming from and
chuckled. "I always knew my son was talented."
Goliath only smiled, then looked back down at the floor. Brooklyn
sighed, then said, "Goliath Elisa will be alright. The clan and I just can't
wait for the baby to come."
Goliath was about to answerwhen Gunner's father walked through the
door. They quickly stood up as he said, "Well, nice to see you again!"
"It's great to see you too, sir, "Goliath said, shaking Gunner's father's
hand.
"Ah, just call me Ryan. "he said, returning the shake. "So what are you doing
                                  here?"
"We've got a question," Goliath said. "Remember the wishes we made?"
"Yes, of course, they worked didn't they?"
"Yes, just as you said, "Goliath replied. "It's about Elisa and my
                            transformations."
"Does it work?" Ryan said, looking up.
"Yes, "Goliath said. He looked as if he could faint.
Brooklyn shook his head and said, "Elisa's pregnant. We're wondering,
since they transform, if it would effect the baby."
"Hmm, "Ryan said. "I've never thought about that."
Ryan walked over to a bookshelf and pulled out a book. He flipped
through some pages, stopping at some, then going on. He stopped at another
one, and reading through it, said, "Ah! Here it is. My wish spell."
Ryan read through the rest of the page and sighed. "It doesn't say
anything about it changing unborn children with the parents, Goliath."
Goliath looked down at the floor and said, "Well,if there's nothing
you can do.."
"Goliath, you understand that I can't give you a wish. I only wish I could,"
                               Ryan said sadly.
"Yes, I understand," Goliath said softly.
He sat back down, and for the first time Brooklyn has ever seen,
Goliath put his face in his mighty hands, and cried. Brooklyn sat next to him
and said, "Goliath, it will be alright."
"What's the matter with Goliath, Dad?" Saber said walking up to Goliath.
"Ryan said the spell doesn't say if it changes babies with the parents."
Saber looked back down at Goliath and kneeled down beside him.
Goliath looked up as Saber said, "Don't cry, Goliath. We'll pull through this.
Remember when I lost my eye, and I thought it was impossible to play hockey,
my all time favorite sport? Well with my clan and parents to help me, I
learned to play with only one good eye."
Goliath put his hand on the young gargoyle's shoulder and said, "Yes,
I remember. But this is a lot different than that."
"I know, "Saber said. "My point is I got through it with my friends and
family."
Goliath sniffed and thanked Saber for the advise. Goliath got up and
said, "Ryan, could you come over and check on Elisa? Last time we were here
your wife said that you held a clinic here."
"Yes, I suppose I could. Let me get my equipment."
                   "I'm comin' too!" Gunner said.
Ryan got his equipment and packed it in a bag. Then they went back
to Goliath's time. When they got there Lexington came up to them and said,
"Goliath, where have you been? Elisa's so worried, she got sick!"
"Elisa! This way Ryan!" Goliath said.
When they got to the room, Elisa was lying in bed with Angela at her
side. "Goliath, "Elisa whispered weakly.
"I'm here and I got a doctor, "Goliath said, picking up Elisa's hand.
Goliath nodded to Ryan, who put down his bag and went to work. He
took out a shoe box sixed object, and unfolded it. "This will let us see the
baby in her womb," Ryan explained.
He placed it over Elisa's stomach and turned it on. A colored 3-D
hologram popped up in mid air. "Elisa, this is your child, "Ryan said. "It
looks gargoyle to me."
Elisa and Goliath breathed a sigh of relief. "Will it change to
human?"
"I haven't a clue, "Ryan said. "When the sun rises, we'll find out."
"Till then, we can only hope, "Goliath said.
They waited for what seemed like an eternity for the sun to rise.
When it finally rose, the gargoyles turned to stone as Goliath and Elisa
changed. They all looked at the image, hoping. Suddenly they saw a change in
the image. Ryan looked at the image closely, then smiled. "It's human."
Goliath released a cry of joy, embracing Elisa. Elisa began crying
again, but these tears were tears of joy. "Can you see what it is?" Goliath
asked.
Ryan looked again and said, "It looks like a girl to me.
Congratulations."
Goliath looked at Elisa lovingly before whispering, "No more
worrying, okay?"
"Okay, "she said before kissing him.
They thanked Ryan and Gunner for their trouble, saying good-bye as
the wolves stepped through the time portal.
              ------------------------------------------------
Ten months have passed, and Elisa has given birth to their daughter,
Kimberly. Goliath and Elisa sat in the same restaurant that Goliath first
noticed something was wrong. But this time, they laughed and talked, having
fun. "I love you, "Goliath said, staring at Elisa.
Elisa leaned across the table and kissed Goliath on the nose. "I love
you, too, "she whispered.
They were interrupted by a squealing noise, coming from Kimberly.
"We haven't forgotten you, little girl," Goliath said, picking Kimberly up.
"You know, I've waited forever to see a child that's my own."
                     "You have Angela," Elisa said.
"I know. I love her as much as little Kimberly here. But I missed her growing
up. By the time I saw her for the first time, she was grown up."
Elisa looked at Goliath the same way she did before. But, there was
something different about him, besides the fact he was holding their baby.
He looked younger, and more.. more human. Goliath wasn't the big, uptight
person he used to be, he was having fun. She smiled and laughed as Goliath
tickled Kimberly, who was giggling hard enough as it is. Elisa got up and
said, "We better get going, it's almost sunset."
Goliath nodded and, tickling her one last time, put Kimberly back in
her back pack, and put it on. Kimberly giggled and tugged on Goliath's long
black hair, which was now tied back, like Xanatos, who gave him the idea.
They walked out to the parking lot, and to Elisa's car. Goliath handed
Kimberly to Elisa, and said, "I'll drive this time, my love."
"Going to use that license, finally?" Elisa said while putting Kimberly in
her car seat.
Goliath chuckled and started the car. They drove towards the castle,
talking and laughing the whole way.
